Pre and Post Natal Yoga Practice
RBDS recommends Therapeutic Approach Yoga Studio in Halifax. Pregnancy yoga classes focus on preparing the body for labor and delivery. Postures open the pelvic parameters, strengthen the legs and improve posture, breath capacity and awareness. Then, five to six weeks after having your baby, you and your baby are invited to return to, or newly begin your yoga practice. Post-partum yoga classes are therapeutic in nature and focus on strengthening the pelvic floor and abdominals and relieving stress to the shoulders and neck from nursing and/or carrying the baby.

Pampering
Taking care of yourself during pregnancy and beyond is key to maintaining a healthy state of mind (which in turn makes you a better mom!).
In Halifax, the best thing since the invention of the manicure is Tracy Thomas. She runs a mobile spa service and will come to your home and pamper you silly. Give her a call at 484-0002.
Another wonderful treat for you, your baby, and your body is pre-natal massage. The folks at Be. Massage Therapy offer pre-natal massage, as well as infant and mother massage classes once your baby is born. Massage during pregnancy can help to relieve some of the physical discomforts associated with the changes in your body. Infant massage can improve your baby's digestive function and help to decrease colic and stress. And, overall, it just feels really darn good!
